Mix-en-scene plantea una experiencia acústica, visual y coreográfica en la que el bailarín, que es a la vez performer y DJ, pincha en directo al mismo tiempo que baila y acciona partituras coreográficas acompañadas de piezas visuales generadas en tiempo real. Iniciado originalmente por la coreógrafa y bailarina Amaranta Velarde en solitario, al proyecto se ha sumado la artista y tecnóloga creativa Alba Corral con el objetivo de presentar una experiencia en la que toma relevancia el plano audiovisual.
De este modo, se construye una sesión acústica y visual que reproduce, versiona y mezcla fragmentos (sampleados) de determinados hitos históricos e icónicos de la danza, la música y los visuales. La propuesta realiza un viaje que experimenta con la cronología y la superposición de estilos y principios artísticos, utilizando estrategias de la postproducción y el espíritu DJ de apropiación, manipulación y versionado de materiales.
Los contenidos de Mix-en-scene son fruto de una investigación entre las obras de aquellos creadores que abrieron paso a nuevos principios y estilos artísticos, desafiando cánones y engendrando «vanguardias» y que han logrado llegar a nuestros días popularizadas. Mix -en- scene por tanto no busca lo nuevo sino que rebusca entre todo aquello «viejo» que dio lugar en su momento a algo nuevo.
Mix-en-scene es un devenir de influencias entre las que encontramos referencias a Ivonne Rainer, Kraftwerk, los futuristas, Satie, Plastikman, Ligeti, Pina Baush, Tom Zé, Ikeda, Fats Domino, Forsythe, Meg Stuart, A Number Of Names, Aphex Tiwn, Nijinsky, Daphne Oram, Stravinsky, Mary Wigmann y Laurie Anderson entre otros.

Mix-en-scene is a project that aims to develop an acoustic, visual and choreographic experience for the audience, where the performer/dancer/dj, plays a live music set as well as activates choreographic scores. The scene itself is accompanied by visual pieces generated in real time. It is about building an acoustic and visual session that reproduces mixes and remakes historical and iconic samples of dance, music and visuals. The proposal makes a journey that experiments with the chronology and the superposition of artistic styles and principles, using postproduction strategies and the dj spirit of appropriation, manipulation and remixing of materials. The project was originally initiated by the choreographer and dancer Amaranta Velarde and later on the artist and creative technologist Alba Corral has joined the project with the aim of presenting an experience that becomes relevant in its audiovisual as well as its choreographic aspects.
The contents of Mix-en-scene are the result of an investigation around the works of artist who set up new artistic principles and styles. Artist considered avant garde in the past whose works achieved to be popular nowadays. Mix-en scene therefore does not look for the new but searches among the concept of the `old´ that gave rise in time to something `new´.
